WEST BRIDGEWATER, MA―March 5, 2012

Equal Exchange has long been a trusted source for tasty organic Fair Trade foods and beverages, but this year they are introducing their first-ever Easter-themed chocolates. These delicious, bite-sized chocolates are made in Switzerland, and beautifully packaged, making them perfect for Easter baskets or gifts.

Each 3.2 oz box contains 20 individually-wrapped dark chocolate “minis” (55% cacao content) made with dual-certified Fair Trade and organic ingredients sourced from small-scale farmers, including: cacao from the Dominican Republic and Peru, cane sugar from Paraguay, and pure vanilla from Madagascar. The chocolates are kosher, vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free.

After Halloween, Easter is the second most important occasion for chocolate sales, and each year Americans consume over 70 million pounds of chocolate the week leading up to Easter. However, much less than 1% of that chocolate is fairly traded, which Equal Exchange seeks to change.
